  • Amazing Time!

by BrowneyedNP on 6/11/25Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

"I absolutely love this venue, rain or shine! However, I have one suggestion—the closing band or artist needs to bring high energy to wrap up the night on a strong note. I thoroughly enjoyed the performances by Will Downing, Marcus Miller and the Legends, Kirk Whalum, Najee, Eric Mendenhall, and Bob James. Their vibrant style would have made the perfect grand finale. While I appreciate Chris Botti’s melodic artistry, his mellow sound made it a challenge to stay awake and energized after the electrifying performances of the other Legends." See you next year!!!

  • Great event

by eliza on 6/11/25Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

This was my second time attending the Capital Jazz festival. Excellent event. I would suggest a few more food vendors as there were only a few and the lines were pretty long. Line up was excellent on both the jazz and the R&B side. I will be back next year

  • Good time but awkward set up

by Lex on 6/11/25Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

It was a good time. Hard to move from stage to stage when there are acts happening at both that you’re interested in. But good quality sound. Great space. Staff at merriweather is really on top of things. Some of the slower music would be better earlier in the schedule.

  • Symphony Woods sound system.

by Symphony Woods on 6/11/25Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 2 out of 5

I love Jazz and this year's event was not enjoyable because of the Symphony Woods sound system. I sat on the Pavillion Stage grass area near the back center stage. While sitting and trying to enjoy some good music, that is ruined because you cannot hear the musicians on the Pavillion Stage because the sound is overwhelmed by the Symphony Woods speaker located in tent city, (near the rear entrance to the Symphony Woods Stage). I went to enjoy some Jazz; however, I was listening to R&B from the Symphony Woods Stage. Not an enjoyable experience!

  • Great day of jazz music in the nation's capital!

by SamaraB on 6/11/25Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

First time at Capital jazz fest in Columbia, though I've attended similar festivals in DC. The Merriweather Pavilion is a great place to spend a couple hours and enjoy the great sounds of masters in music. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal for those on the lawn, but under the roof, the energy was popping and on point for the music. 10/10 would recommend to any jazz lover.

  • Capital Jazz Fest 2025

by Face09 Upstate, NY on 6/11/25Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 3 out of 5

I would have preferred a more impressive lineup throughout all three days, particularly for the closing acts on Saturday and Sunday. The arrangement of performances didn’t seem optimal for keeping the audience engaged until the end. Several slower, more relaxed acts were scheduled for later in the day, which made it challenging to maintain focus and energy. I believe these performances would have been better suited for earlier in the day. I hope they can secure more captivating acts for next year's festival, as this will influence my decision to attend all three days before making a purchase. Additionally, it would be beneficial to reinstate the option of purchasing parking passes with tickets, rather than the current first-come, first-served method, especially for attendees with disabilities, whether temporary or permanent. I trust that constructive feedback like this will be taken into consideration and implemented, especially if it reflects a recurring sentiment. Despite these issues and the rainy, chilly weather on Sunday, we made the best of the situation!

  • The Pavillion lineup was terrible

by Pittsburgh on 6/11/25Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 1 out of 5

This was one if not thee worst lineups I mean ridiculous, compare this lineups to others across the country. Compare the price to Norfolk in August for one. In less lineup selection changes this will be my last one
