Dave Matthews Band in Concert
With a career spanning more than 27 years, Dave Matthews Band is one of the most influential bands in rock history. In 1991, vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews decided to put some songs he had written on tape and sought the assistance of drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville, VA music scene. 16-year-old bassist Stefan Lessard came on board shortly thereafter. Their infectious, distinctive sound garnered lots of early attention and a die-hard loyal fan base, catapulting the band into one of the most successful touring acts of the past three decades.
The group has since released nine studio albums and numerous live recordings, selling a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined since the 1994 release of its major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. The GRAMMY®-winning band's many hits include "What Would You Say," "Crash Into Me," "Too Much," "Everyday," "American Baby," "Funny The Way It Is," "Mercy" and "Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)."
Founding member LeRoi Moore passed away in August of 2008 and the band paid tribute to him with 2009's Platinum-certified Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. Dave Matthews Band has since welcomed longtime collaborators/touring musicians Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Rashawn Ross (horns) and Tim Reynolds (guitar) into the lineup and - most recently - keyboardist Buddy Strong.
With 2018's Come Tomorrow, Dave Matthews Band became the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In a Critic's Pick review, The New York Times observed, "willed optimism fills the songs on 'Come Tomorrow,' while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot... each song notes the fears and sorrows it's determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms."
Renowned for their live performances, Dave Matthews Band has sold over 24 million tickets since its inception and ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade. The group's Bama Works Fund, established in 1999, has raised more than $52 million dollars for humanitarian and environmental initiatives.

This show was my fourth and hands-down the best DMB I've been to yet. I think it was a mixture of set and weather
This was my third dmb show at riverbend and it was some of their best perfomrmances i have seen. THey were very tight and held together well as only DMB can. It was an amazing experience and I will definitely be going next year.
This show was surprising good this year. I was curious to see what it would be like with new material being played coupled with the abscence of LeRoi Moore. They brought a lot of energy to the show and the new material sounded very good.
Dave's new tunes were baaaad in concert. What a cookin concert-poured down rain and cooled everything off so it could not have been any better-new light show was amazing also-keep on rockin Dave, and we'll keep comin!
I have been to lots of DMB concerts but this one topped them all! It started to down pour as the show began but no one left. It made the show that much better seeing how loyal DMB fans are.
The music shone through! Every player was on point, with Tim Reynolds doing his magic majestically.
Dave Matthews Band at Riverbend Music Center on June 16, 2009 was an unbelievable show. I have never heard them sound as solid or as intense as that night. This was our 15th show and by far it ranked in the top 2 or 3 of all of those shows. The new album is fantastic and the live versions of the songs only made them sound better.
There was a ton of rain. I am so glad I paid extra for pavillion seats. I have seen Dave Mathews Band more than ten times. This particular show was top three for me. The new songs were great and the old songs were even better. They jammed on many of my favorites for more than 10 minutes. AWESOME!!!
I was amazed!!! All the new songs at once thrilled me. I was just amazed. The set was pretty cool, it usually is but this night was amazing!
DMB was amazing, as usual! Ive seen them 8 times & it gets better everytime! even being late, but not missing Dave come on, & all the rain, it was well worth it:! Will be seeing them in Indy, & Im sure it will be just as good if not better.
It was raining all day but was a fantastic show. I have been to 10 DMB concerts and this had the best set list yet. Thanks
The concert was great, it was a great venue, we had a blast even though it rained the whole time.
ALWAYS the best concert of the season! Wish they came to Cinci in the winter, too!
We really enjoyed the concert. Never saw Dave before and he was great. His band was just as great! We stood in downpouring rain for 3 hours and loved every minute of it. A word of advise....if going to RIverbend shell out the money for pavillion seats!!!! We will see Dave again when he's in town.
The band gave the best concert, they each give 110% and obviously enjoy every second that they are playing. They truly are there to give the fans every last drop they have to offer. Each guy in the band are talented beyond belief! Loved every second of it!
The Dave show in Cincy was good but even though we were undercover, we still got rained on. Tailgating was great though; - ) The new songs seemed pretty good, Tim Reynolds played more electric guitar than I'm used to - would rather see him accoustic.
Dave tore it up on stage as usual. This band preforoms wonderful everytime I see them with a very energetic show. Its a must see when they come to town.
What kind of review can one actually write about DMB? They are fantastic and dynamic. The weather was a little unforgiving that evening but despite the torrential down pours, it deterred no one. We were under the pavilion, but we still were soaked. Though our clothes were drenched, we paid no attention. The music made ya forget that you really might have been uncomfortable in any other setting!! We go to see DMB every year and wouldn't miss it for anything. Always an awesome time with fantastic music!!! Thanks again Guys!!
Unforgettable setlist that conquered the rain and shined with delightful fear.
dave and the band came to put up a show. their songs are just as good live as recorded, and the show was amazing.
