About

Russell Peters was recently named as one of Rolling Stone's 50 Best Comics of All Time. He started doing stand-up at the age of nineteen at open mics in his native Toronto, and spent the next fifteen years honing his craft at clubs across Canada and the UK. In 2004, Peters gained critical and global recognition for his CTV "Comedy Now!" special and soon became the first comedian to sell-out Toronto's Air Canada Centre in 2007. Peters went on to set attendance records at venues from Madison Square Garden to The Sydney Opera House to London's O2 Arena - where he broke the UK attendance record for highest number of tickets sold for an individual comedy show.

His subsequent tours were captured in his successful specials broadcast on Showtime and Comedy Central: Outsourced in 2006; Red, White and Brown in 2008; and, The Green Card Tour in 2010. In 2013, Peters became the first comedian to create a Netflix Original Comedy Special. His Deported World Tour was seen by over 400,000 fans in 40 cities across 20 countries and culminated in the stand-up special, Russell Peters Deported, on Amazon Prime in January 2020. Peters is currently on the road with his Act Your Age World Tour.

Peters has been awarded Gemini, Peabody, Emmy and Canadian Screen Awards for his hosting, producing and acting talents. His last TV series, The Indian Detective, set a Canadian viewership record for Bell Media /CTV in 2017 and was released globally on Netflix.

Peters resides in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. When not on tour he spends every day with his daughter, Crystianna and son, Russell Santiago. He has a blue belt with three stripes in Jiu Jitsu and is an ardent DJ and hip-hop junkie who tries to get on the turntables for at least a few minutes every day.

  • Best show ever!!! All new stuff not the same old stuff

I think this was his best show ever. I was in the front row and was on the big screen when he started asking questions to me. I told him I was from Fiji Islands but from San Jose California

The experience was just as expected when you see Russell Peters. Would highly recommend. Also the comics he brought along with him really set you up for major laughs.

  • Not the Same Russel That We Loved for Years

by antipkin on 2/11/25Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

We loved Russel for years, have watched multiple times all his specials on Netflix (I think there were at least four available over the years) and have seen him perform live twice. But this show - Relax - was just not the same. Not very funny, most of the jokes are about sex, and it was short - 1 hour and 15 minutes. Beacon Theater NYC was a fine venue, the staff acts a bit bossy at times, but they were also quite friendly and helpful.

  • Very funny performance

Very funny performance had a good time only thing is I didn’t like the beacon theater they are not ADA friendly

  • Not what expected, better on YouTube

by Pinh on 2/11/25Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

I express total disappointment with Russel's recent performances, there is no longer a storyline and that the focus has shifted to interacting with the front row. His explicit language used can become annoying, we need him to have a captivationg stories that he used to have they to produce 5-6 years ago, which included stories, characters, and references to different countries. Now it's all just on the go jokes , there is only one guy that can do it Dave Chappelle.

  • Unforgettable night with Russel Peters

by Biljana on 2/11/25Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Russel made relaxed but stormy atmosphere with his casual interactive jokes. We all had amazing time.

  • Could be a little better

by Paula on 2/11/25Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

That was my first time seeing him, but I thought he could tell a few more jokes. At the end, he didn’t say goodbye appropriately. I thought he could be more appreciative with everyone, especially with a snow storm happening outside.

  • Russell still rocking the house !

by Satish on 2/10/25Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Russell has become about 53 years old; But he still rocks the house; Raunchy and dirty jokes really makes you laugh. The theater was gorgeous... Great show

  • He was great, but....

by TV on 2/10/25Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Russell was hilarious as usual. I love how he incorporates the audience, the first couple rows into his jokes. One thing I was upset about is the fact that I paid alot of money in order to sit Relatively close to the stage (row G) and yet his only stayed on left side of the stage the entire time; i was on the right side. Russell - next time you need to walk around some more!
