About

Jamaican-American rapper and singer Shaggy exploded on the music scene in 2001 with the smash single "It Wasn't Me" off the multi-platinum selling album Hot Shot. The album also featured the single, "Angel," and helped launch Shaggy into international stardom where tickets for his live act were a hot draw, including memorable concerts with Natalie, Cyndi Lauper, Rupee and Fay-Ann Lyons. In addition to touring the world, Shaggy has also performed at several high-profile events, including the opening ceremony of the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 and the closing ceremony of the 2009 IPL tournament in South Africa. Following the release of a new album in 2013, it's expected that Shaggy will tour again with fellow musicians. Blessed with a unique, stylistic voice and featuring dancing and Jamaican influences in his act, Shaggy has sold hundreds of thousands of tickets. Shaggy collaborated with producing duo Sly and Robbie for the release of his latest album, "Out of Many, One Music." The album features several guest appearances, including Ne-Yo, Damian Marley, Beres Hammond, Konshens and Jimmy Cozier. "Out of Many, One Music" features the lead single, "Fight This Feeling," in addition to "Make Up" and "She Gives Me Love." Collectively, Shaggy has produced 12 studio albums over his 20-year career.

Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and lived there until his family relocated to Brooklyn. He enlisted in the US Marines, but music was his true passion. While serving in the military, he gained inspiration for his first hit, "Boombastic." It wasn't until 2000, though, when Shaggy became an international sensation with the multi-platinum selling "Hot Shot." The singer/rapper has captivated audiences over a long and productive career and will continue to entertain select stages across the globe in 2014.

  • Love Common Kings

by Tanukishady on 5/7/25Los Angeles County Fair - PomonaRating: 5 out of 5

The Common Kings joint was Fi-yah! Great live musicians and the sound was great, if the bass was a bit thunderous. But, importantly, we could hear and understand the singer's words -- which in a lot of other cases you can't. Our seats were good, and, for a change, the price from Ticketbuster wasn't significantly different than at the door. The fair itself was disappointing because, apparently, we were too early on in the fair for the livestock -- there were hardly any animals present. Mostly human animals in the concert area. LOL.

  • Great voice

by Shaggy gets the crowd involved on 5/7/25Los Angeles County Fair - PomonaRating: 4 out of 5

I never saw Shaggy in concert before. Honestly, we were going to see the Common Kings, and were excited to see Shaggy was performing also. He is a pro and keeps the crowd involved in his performance. It was unfortunately sprinkling during the concert, and we left a little early. Would have loved to hear more of his music from early 2000.

  • Started late in the rain

by Cocozee on 5/7/25Los Angeles County Fair - PomonaRating: 3 out of 5

Was so excited for this show. Saw Shaggy in Irvine a couple summers ago and it was so much fun. This show was not. Opening band was good but started late and went on very long. It was drizzly before the show even started and we were drenched before Common Kings finished. We split over an hour into the opening band. The venue left a lot to be desired. Maybe next time around Shaggy!

  • Great

It was so great. Everyone was great that participated in the event. Thanks

  • Not great

by Jen on 5/6/25Los Angeles County Fair - PomonaRating: 1 out of 5

He seemed drunk, was abrupt with the crowd, and gave a really sloppy performance. It was also at a venue with no shelter and it was cold and raining so that probably didn't help the vibe!

  • GOAT

by LizzG1035 on 5/6/25Los Angeles County Fair - PomonaRating: 5 out of 5

Loved, loved, loved! My youngest daughter is a huge fan as well & it will literally go down as one of her BEST memories ever! It rained on us but it didn’t dampen a thing for us!

  • It was what it was sold

by Survy on 5/6/25Los Angeles County Fair - PomonaRating: 3 out of 5

I bought 5 tickets for Shaggy's concert thinking that it was going to be held on the Grandstand. The tickets were sold using the grandstand sitting map to select your seats. What a big and disappointed surprise when we arrived to the concert to find out it was relocated to an area inside the fair were they set up foldable chairs under the weather. We were totally exposed and it was raining during the whole concert. Since the chairs were all on a flat area you cannot see the stage. What a big fiasco.

  • Rainy Concert

by Brenda on 5/6/25Los Angeles County Fair - PomonaRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve never in my life attended a concert in the rain but he definitely made it worth it. He is an entertainer!

Bought tickets for my husband’s birthday! Saw Shaggy last night in Chicago Ravinia. He loved it! I loved it! I would definitely go see him in concert. TLC was ok. Not my style.
