Great experience
by ExCoastie on 5/16/25Rating: 5 out of 5This was 1977 in Oakland CA. The Days on the Green were an event in itself for those that remember. The Grateful Dead opened for the Who. This was with all the original band members. I was so impressed by how tight they were. The sound was incredible. Pete Townsend sporting a white pair of coveralls and slinging that white Gibson Les Paul with the number 1 at the base. ( I’m wondering how many do you have Pete). Keith Moons summersault entrance and showmanship on the skins. Daltry’s voice was powerful. I was most impressed by John Entwistle. The way those fingers would dance up and down the neck of his bass effortlessly while looking out at us in the crowd with no emotion and very little movement except for that left hand working between the frets. Greatest bass player ever lived. The entire show has stuck with me for decades.
