Blue Öyster Cult is an American rock band formed in New York in 1967. The group is well known for three songs: The 1976 single "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" from the album Agents of Fortune, the 1981 single "Burnin' for You" from the album Fire of Unknown Origin, and "Godzilla" (1977) from Spectres . The band is a pioneer in heavy metal music both for its hard-edged musical assault and its use of sci-fi and occult imagery.

Blue Oyster Cult was a disappointment. At this point in their career they should be playing songs from their past that got them noticed. Zebra played entirely too long. The Nesheiwat Center in Poughkeepsie has the worst beer selection of any concert venue I’ve ever been to.
They just come out and play great music! They never disappoint.
I enjoyed this show immensely! Was a trip through memory lane. Thank you Eric,Buck and the gang !
This was the first time I have seen Zebra and they nailed it; Freaking vocals were awesome & the band just rocked & rolled! BOC also nailed it as this was like my 16th or 17th time seeing them. Never a dull or boring performance. My all time favorite band.
This review is terribly late. I saw these other reviews - I blundered and didn’t write the review the band SO richly deserved for their July 5th show in Reno. I rode the train from Oakland, Ca to Reno, NV for a show I was incredibly excited to see. A longtime fan of the band, for some bizarre reason I had never seen BOC live. I was not disappointed. The show rocked and every band member was tight as could be - I sat in awe from the 2nd row seat I had (though it was weird at this venue - they were very hyper keeping people back from the stage, but, oh well. It was truly wonderful. I LOVE The Blue Oyster Cult!
First off I got to give props to Boston they blew me away ! BOC they rocked the house as always.
Was super excited to share the experience of Blue Oyster Cult in concert with my GF for her birthday present. I've been a fan of BOC for over 40 years, and can tell what song is playing by the first few chords. Imagine my disappointment over the course of the entire concert when I couldn't tell what 14 out of the 15 songs were for the first 30 seconds to a minute or more, the only song I knew immediately was Godzilla. Who can't tell that song from the immediate crashing footsteps? The soundboard operator had the Bass, Keyboard and Drums so loud that everything was distorted and the vocals were set so low that it was difficult to make out Eric's introduction to several of the songs. I couldn't make out the majority of the lyrics for any of the songs, and had no clue what Tainted Blood's lyrics even were. During Then Came the Last Days of May, Buck's haunting guitar work and vocals were impossible to determine from the Bass and Drums that literally had my clothes vibrating. I sat directly behind the soundboard only 14 rows up and after the first few songs was moments away from leaving due to the completely unprofessional job, however we stayed in hopes my GF would get to see a flash of the past from the band. Many of the fans sitting around me were commenting after each song was over that they were disappointed also that everything was so massively distorted. I've been to 5 other of their concerts in venues ranging from considerably smaller to significantly larger and never witnessed this poor of a job managing the soundboard. I know that many aging rock groups use louder bass, drums and guitars to drown out the decreased quality of their singer's vocals, and if this is what BOC has been diluted down to, I've seen my last of their concerts.
Blue Oyster Cult gave a great performance, as did the two opening acts, the lead singers from the bands Chicago and Boston. It was a great night of music, with everyone playing their hits! Money well spent for a great show!
The greats: Jason Scheff and Tommy DeCarlo were fantastic! The good: Blue Oyster Cult was good, but played a lot of obscure songs. Would have liked more hits. The Needs-Improvement: The seats in the venue are much better than they were, but NO CUPHOLDERS. Disappointed.
