While I appreciate being able to come in early and set up our chairs I didn’t like the fact that we had to get back in line to enter the concert area . It made absolutely no sense to me ! What’s the point of having vip tickets if you have to stand in line twice ?
Purchased preferred seating. Brought low beach chair. Mistake, bring lawn chairs. Got there about 5:00 pm. Got a decent spot. Dougie Fresh was awesome. Fabulous performance. Nostalgic, partied like it was 1999. 😍
There should be a section for non-smokers and a section for smokers. Even though the event is outside, I did not like smelling someone else’s cigar/cigarette smoke.
I had an awesome time. Net some new people. Seen someone I hadn't seen in 40 years. Can't wait until net year!
Great Festival! Great Energy! Powerful Performances! & Great Weather! Our group of 6 loved the line-up for both nights. But we did have a continuing discussion on the line-up order for both especially the closers. The other "major"discussion was the guidelines the Festival Promoters established for the Primary Seating ticketholders. If I paid monies for the Primary Admission/Seating Area I should not have to stand in lines for access. We were given wristbands for both days to identify we paid & to differentiate from the General Admission Area, which was no charge, and they had the freedom to go & come through out the day. Aside from that we will BE BACK NEXT YEAR.
Friday the artist and flow was organized. Saturdays lineup wasn't as concise. Not enough food vendors. Long bathroom lines for the women. Allowing people to put there chairs/ items down early seems unfair for the locals who support this event every year and do not get rooms at the beach.
Well we arrive at 4:00 p.m. and of course the line is wrapped around the park area which was expected. I then find out in chatting with the patrons that the they allowed people to check in earlier that day and placed their chairs and coolers down! On the site it said that was available from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. I find out later it was 10 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. It was a total mess. The next day on Saturday, I arrive early and end up sitting only 2 rows ahead of where I sat Friday night. FUNKFEST is charging more money and you're further back. If you're going to be that far from stage, the cost should be less expensive. Then you got these parking lots gouging everyone on Saturdays! It's gotten ridiculous on the pricing for everything! I'm sure this is the last year we will be attending. It's been nice since 2016 but it's taking advantage of folks now!
The sound, the Dj, the MC, the food and the parking was really good. Some of the artists were really good, but Doug E. Fresh tore the roof off. He was the bomb. Would definitely pay to see him again
Great festival, for adults. Vibe just right. Bella a Dilla, Sos and Dough Fresh stole the show. Can't wait until next year. DJ Heart attack on point.
