About

In a career spanning more than 15 years, Morgan has released six studio albums and a live recording from his hometown of Flint, Michigan. Additionally, he has toured relentlessly, averaging over 125 shows annually. Rolling Stone has described him as a "Waylon Jennings acolyte...modern day outlaw [with a] hard hitting blue-collar brand of music," while NPR hailed, "Staying close to the sound and subject matter of classic outlaw artists like Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and David Allan Coe, Morgan is poised to lead this hand-worn brand of country to the next generation."

  • A few words to sum up my experience

by Oz on 1/22/25Bogart's - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

This show was awesome. The opening act was a solid mix of rock and country and you could feel their passion to be up there playing. Whitey and the boys came out and commanded the audience with their tunes, keeping us entertained.

Whitney Morgan’s and the 78’s have great energy and really feed into the crowd. Super amazing vocals and instrumental! Jammed out and brought the opening acts on stage to join in on songs! I highly recommend seeing Them!

  • Amazing Show from one of the favorites!

by Jeremy P on 11/26/24White Oak Music Hall - Downstairs - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

We saw Whitey Morgan & the 78s @ the White Oak Music Hall … they put on an absolutely amazing show! The hall was a great place…loved the size & fewer numbers in the crowd. Only downfall is that it’s standing room only on concrete for all tickets…not bad if it’s only a couple of hours… but from open door time to concert end, it was 4 hours. Feet were killing us, but we don’t regret going at all. Still a great show!

I have waited for years to see Whitey Morgan and the 78’s and it was with the wait! I am more of a metal guy but their work just grabs me and while powerful at home, live and in person was one of the best concerts I have been to.
