From sweaty club shows to uproarious festival dates, LESS THAN JAKE'S deeds are best measured in the smiles they've generated for life-long fans and new listeners alike.
Uncharted, the ska-punkers' brand new 7 song EP released by longtime label Pure Noise Records, should help keep those smiles tattooed on the faces of their fans. The new material is stacked with loud guitars, booming bass, thunderous drums, those distinct vocal harmonies, and the one-two punch of the trombone and sax.
These seven tracks see the band conquering new musical territory, while holding true to the classic LESS THAN JAKE sound.
Indeed, LESS THAN JAKE --guitarist/vocalist Chris DeMakes, bassist/vocalist Roger Lima, trombonist Buddy Schaub, saxophonist Peter "JR" Wasilewski and drummer Matt Yonker -- may have been at this for over three decades, but with the energy and spirit of this new EP, you would never know it.
The recording sessions were helmed by Jason Livermore and legendary drummer/producer Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Descendents, ALL). Stevenson and crew harnessed LESS THAN JAKE's urgency and helped capture their frenetic live energy on this eclectic collection of new material.
So, what's next for Less Than Jake? One thing is for certain - their consistency.
While the tendency now is for legacy acts to announce farewell and reunion tours, LESS THAN JAKE have never even taken a summer off. 33 years performing and the band is more visible than ever. First time at Ace of Spades and I will certainly be back. Staff there was incredible, acoustics were outstanding and the crowd was great. Super lively but everyone was amazingly chill and friendly. LTJ sounded great, hadn’t seen them in awhile and they were as good or maybe better than I remember. Thanks all for a great night!
Less Than Jake puts on a great show. It was awesome that they did the entire album and then a few bonus songs.
The energy and the band was incredible. Great show as always. The venue was cramped. 1300 people in a building meant for 500. Way too packed. Would have been nice if they reserved some space for the old punk rockers that want to enjoy the music without the mosh pit.
Was an absolute amazing show. Great line up Great energy from all the bands. I’ve seen them all but the raging Nathan’s before a lonnng time ago and they all still rock it like they were in their twenties still. Hope to maybe see some of them again with NOFX this summer!?! Also had to add: it was awesome how half the audience (including ourselves) was popping Advil and talking about how it was past their bedtime. Hahahah

constant slam dancing, crowd surfing, skanking, a fat dude got up on stage to dance with them...overall I say it was worth seeing
LTJ was awesome! The vibe at the show was so good! The opening bands were good and brought good energy, but Less Than Jake knocked it out of the park with their legendary stage presence, packed with good vibes, jokes, audience and security guard participation. Do not miss LTJ if you get an opportunity to see them!
Thank goodness for the band. Great music great show wish the sound in certain areas of the venue were better but all round awesome experience!!
Saw them less than a year ago perform Hello Rockview in it's entirely and this time was somehow better, maybe it because it was a slightly smaller venue that Irving Plaza, may it was the openers really brought, whatever it was, this was great show, I'm glad I got to hear this album at least one more time live.
I took my son and his first to their first show. We had an amazing experience. Can't wait to go back.
