Mike Birbiglia is a comedian, writer, director, and actor who has performed his award-winning solo shows worldwide--from the Sydney Opera House to the West End of London to Broadway. His five solo shows "Sleepwalk With Me," "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend," "Thank God For Jokes," "The New One," and "The Old Man & The Pool" enjoyed successful runs on and off Broadway and became hit Netflix comedy specials. His work on "The Old Man & The Pool" earned him a 2024 Emmy nomination for Best Writing. He is currently touring with his newest comedy show, "The Good Life." Mike's shows merge storytelling and comedy in a way that The New York Times has called "Birbiglian." Birbiglia also wrote, directed, and starred in the films "Sleepwalk with Me" and "Don't Think Twice." As an actor, Birbiglia has appeared in the films "Trainwreck," "The Fault in Our Stars," "Popstar," "A Man Called Otto" as well as TV roles in "Orange Is the New Black" and "Billions." He hosts the podcast "Mike Birbiglia's Working It Out."
Loved Mike and his gift for storytelling and his honesty. I was really glad I went!!
Excellent experience. My one critique is, Mike should have been wearing a headset microphone so when he speaks very softly we can still hear him. I missed several jokes because the mike wasn’t close enough to his mouth.
I have seen Mike Birbiglia every time he performs in NYC and he NEVER, EVER disappoints!! Mike is a true comic in every sense of the word but with a touch of honesty and realism. He meshes the two together in such a way that you can't help but laugh along with seeing yourself in his stories. They are real and we have all experienced some of them one way or another. Looking forward to his next evening of entertainment.
I've been a Birbiglia fan for a long time but have never seen him live and this was such a great show. I laughed harder than I possibly ever have and have recently seen Nate and Tom Segura. Both great shows but this one was incredibly. Beacon Theater is an iconic stage and it was awesome to see our fav comedian IRL. 5 stars all around.
Really enjoyed his latest, The Good Life. Although we were sitting in the upper balcony, we were able to hear most everything. About 10% was not clear. Also, because the height is drastic, really couldn't see him at all. I know comedians like to be at the front of the stage but would have been nice if he was 10' further back.
Great show! I've seen every one of his since "Thank God for Jokes"(making this my 4th new show total) and he has a way of doing stand-up that manages to tell a well-crafted, oftentimes touching story without sacrificing the comedy. I'm certain this won't be my last time seeing him.
We flew in from Ohio to see the show - Mike Birbiglia is one of our faves! While this wasn't our favorite of his shows it was still so fun!
He is a wonderfully funny storyteller that can touch your heart. The story of his relationship with his parents and daughter, and intertwined with his own life events, including a meeting of several comedians (Chris Rock, Jim Gaffigan, John Oliver, Steven Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon) with the Pope had many humorous twists and culminated in an emotional heart tug. With all the negativity and bad news in both the world and in our personal lives, it was nice to feel human, connected and happy at the end of the show. Brilliant!
Mike Birbiglia was brilliant. It was the bright spot of my month. I had seen his Netflix special and decided to see him in person. It was worth the effort. My face muscles literally hurt from laughing so hard. He is a master storyteller.
We have been listening to Mike B. For 10 years. He always ends up at the beginning but the story telling and heartful laughs on the way are wonderful. I wish I had seen him on that subway ride into the city…I would have told him all my favorite jokes from his stories. Calling Jen…Clo….the scrambler….too many to recount. This was a great show. The second time I have seen him in person. Really good. Genuine. Thank you Mike Birbiglia for comedy that my daughter and I have liked since she was 10.
